CASSIE'S SURGERY TOO

This was a pretty strange few days.  Not only did DH have surgery on his elbow, but Miss Cassie had to have surgery this morning to have five teeth extracted.  She had four incisor teeth that were broken off and apparently one pre molar in the back that was so loose that the docs decided to go ahead and take it out too.

She did fine and they called about eleven to say she was awake and I could pick her up around four.  I did and she was still in never never land, but okay.   It's sort of a dazed look in the eyes, a little spooky.  She was looking around like she was seeing the world for the first time.
Poor Baby :(

THE END OF RESTAURANT WEEK AND A TRIP TO THE ER!

After returning home from our last restaurant of the 2010 Restaurant Week adventures, we decided that DH had a nasty case of something going on in his elbow that was even after a visit to the Doc the day before not getting any better so we ended up at the Emergency Room to have it looked.at again.

We thought they might just give him an IV antibiotic but everything did not go as planned and so later that evening after an ambulance trip to the main hospital and a surgeon being called in surgery was performed the next day and the quick trip to the ER ended up lasting three nights and three days!

But as of tonight things are better and DH is home and all is pretty much back to normal.  Thank Goodness

ANEMONE MOVING DAY

The anemone had been living in the front right side of the tank for a few months and all of a sudden he decides for some reason that it is not the place to be.  So he takes off across the tank looking for a new home.  I'm not really excited with where he has ended up.

RESTAURANT WEEK 2010 - THE MANSION

I have wanted to go to The Mansion Restaurant in Oak Lawn just ever since it opened.  So this year, even though I have heard it isn't as good as it used to be I still wanted it to be on the list of restaurants we were going to, just to say I had been there.  So here it is.  Not exactly what I expected.  Not sure what I expected, but I guess I just had it built up to be bigger, flashier, fancier, I don't know.

Obviously "The Mansion Menu"

A look around, it was pretty :)

The bread was good

Lots of fancy cars!

THE REST OF THE REST OF THE TRIP

The last day we spent taking me around doing the shopping I didn't get to do the day before.  I found a really pretty blue pendent, a gorgeous perfume bottle for my dresser and some other miscellaneous stuff.

The afternoon we took a tour of the Lost Oak Tree Sculptures that had been made from trees lost during Hurricane Ike - this is just a sampling of them.

That night we met family for dinner at the Moody Hotel.  We had planned to go to Luigi's on the Strand, but ended up staying and eating at the hotel restaurant.  The company was good but the food was just okay.

Tomorrow morning - home again.  Good thing, I'm tired and it is HOT HOT HOT HOT, but HOTTER at home, 110 degrees on arrival!
